Curriculum Information

The Core Curriculum

In order to have a more systematic structure of education, NTNU has divided general education courses into several different domains. The school hopes to facilitate in students the ability to learn across multiple disciplines, in order to create a basis to raise professionalism and creativity. This curriculum hopes to engender critical thinking skills in order to encourage students to become socially responsible, engaging citizens in a rapidly globalized world.

Because of the revision of the general education curriculum at NTNU, the new general education course system will be effective starting from the fall semester of 2017. General education courses will now have seven domains, effective for all matriculating students during and after the 2017 school year. Students who matriculated during or before the 2016 school year will continue to use the old curriculum.
